WhatsApp will no longer run on older smartphones a few months ago. So, today likely be the last day for you to use WhatsApp. WhatsApp on its official blog had announced in February 2016 “As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. So, by the end of 2016, we will be ending support for WhatsApp Messenger on the following mobile platforms”

So these are the devices that will no longer get support from WhatsApp:-

• BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
• Nokia S40
• Nokia Symbian S60
• Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
• Windows Phone 7.1
• iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

WhatsApp on its official blog even mentioned that these devices were an important part of their story. However, these devices don’t have enough capabilities to mix up with the changing environment of WhatsApp.
