HBO HACKED:
A group of hackers stolen the script of the forthcoming Game of Thrones episode and other data at HBO. Hackers claim to have taken episodes from HBO shows to release online, including information on the current season of "Game of Thrones".
The group says that it has 1.5 terabytes of the company's data and has posted episodes of "Ballers" & "Room 104" online. There is also written material that’s allegedly from next week’s fourth episode of Game of Thrones. More is promised to be “coming soon.” this might be too much threatening that HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the settlement of exclusive information,” the network confirmed in a statement.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the hackers sent an email to reporters reading:
Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh, I forget to tell. It's HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him.
HBO’s CEO sent an email to employees reading,
“Any intrusion of this nature is obviously disruptive, unsettling, and disturbing for all of us … The problem before us is unfortunately all too familiar in the world we now find ourselves a part of.”
The Dare ness of hackers might show that- They encouraged Receivers to download the material and added:
"Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him."
HBO said that,
- We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cyber security firms," the firm added.
- "Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold."
As it is not the first incident but the biggest Hollywood hack victim was on Sony in 2014, where approximately 100 terabytes of data was uploaded online (versus the 1.5 TB claimed in the HBO attack)
Let's wait and see what the investigation reports says!
