Worrying about an Old smartphone? Ok! Now you can reuse your old smartphone: by turning it into a personal monitoring system to catch unexpected guests and unwanted intruders.

Edward Snowden, launched Haven, an android app for that turns old smartphones into full-fledged home security devices.

Haven uses your Android phone’s built-in hardware - cameras, microphones, light sensors, and accelerometers — to monitor the room in your absence. It’ll capture photos and audio of anyone entering the room and send them to your primary device to alert you to the activity.
Haven even captures light disturbances - like a flashlight in a dark room - using the built-in technology that auto-adjusts screen brightness when lighting conditions change. The app also observes whether the device is charging or losing power.
You can easily monitor all the things happening around the Haven-powered device as it regularly sends recorded feed and other information to your main smartphone via Signal. The same can be accessed in Haven’s log over the internet using Tor or if you have physical access to the device.
