Google started testing the Floating Conversation Bubbles to its "Messages app", as of now API for “Bubbles” is a hidden development part of Android 10 which allows apps to put messaging and other functions in a floating bubble.
The feature is as same as the Facebook Messenger’s chat heads, which brings up a floating bubble for ongoing conversations.
Android10 Bubble Notification System:
While the Bubble Notification feature is in development, didn’t make it to the stable release of Android 10, the bubble notification system is expected to completely replace the overlay API in the forthcoming release of Android.
This feature is already tested and reported by the XDAdevelopers,In a bid to prepare its apps for the Bubbles API, Google is also testing it on its messaging apps. Earlier this year in October, we learned that the company was prepping up the Google Messages app for the new bubble notification support. And now, we’ve managed to successfully enable it in the latest release of the app. Our Editor-in-Chief, Mishaal Rahman, enabled the Bubbles functionality in the Messages app, which makes all incoming text messages appear in a bubble. As you can see in the attached screenshots, the notification bubbles appear at the edge of the display with a photo of the contact, the app icon, and a preview of the message. If left untouched, the preview disappears shortly thereafter and is replaced by a notification dot.
How to Enable Bubble Notification in Android10?
To enable Bubble Notification feature,Android 10 beta users can manually enable it from inside the Developer Options [Settings > Developer Options > Bubbles].
Once enabled, Bubbles in Google Messages immediately pop-up on screen in a floating bubble which can then be expanded to a window which shows your message thread, quick replies, and all of the outgoing message features you’d see in the full app.
We can see the Bubble notification feature in full mode for its next android releases Android 11 and, now, Google Messages is starting to test support for Bubbles.
