Microsoft is also planning to renew apps like Photos from the basic white logos that exist today into more colorful alternatives.
The new Mail and Calendar icons are also appearing in the Release Preview ring for Windows 10, which means they’re just days away from being available to all Windows 10 users.

Microsoft has already started a phase of A/B testing (random test) with users (presumably Insider) for the release of the new colored icons of Windows 10.
In November of 2018, Microsoft revealed a revamped set of Office icons it had created under its fresh new Fluent Design aesthetic. In December of 2019, it announced it was bringing Fluid redesigns to virtually all of Windows 10’s icons. Now the company is beginning to roll out some of these icons, starting with Windows Insiders.
Moreover, Microsoft’s design team is now working collaboratively internally in what the company describes as an “open source” way.
