Later in February, Google introduced this feature through an extension and in October made it a part of the password manager in your Google account. Now, the feature is directly given into the Chrome Web browser.

“When you sign in to a website, Chrome will send a hashed copy of your username and password to Google encrypted with a secret key only known to Chrome. No one, including Google, is able to derive your username or password from this encrypted copy,”.The new feature was announced by Google CEO Sundar Pichai in a tweet, In addition to warning users about compromised usernames and passwords, the new update will also alert users when they visit a malicious website.

How does the Chrome New Password Protection Feature Work?
